How to use Duta

Six steps, once. After that, writing a post takes about a minute and publishing takes care of itself.

1. Step 1

   Sign in to Duta

   Open Duta and sign in. Duta is invite only while it is being built, so use the email address you were invited with.

2. Step 2

   Connect a social account

   Go to the Channels page and press Connect next to the platform you want. You will be sent to that platform to approve access, then returned to Duta.

   • One Facebook login connects every Page you administer, each as its own channel.
   • Instagram must be a professional account and linked to one of your Facebook Pages.
   • You can connect as many accounts as you like, and disconnect any of them later.
3. Step 3

   Write the post

   Press Write a post. Choose which channels should receive it, then type the post. Duta counts the characters the way each platform does and shows every limit at once.

   • X counts a link as 23 characters however long it is, and counts Chinese and Japanese characters double.
   • LinkedIn hides everything past roughly 210 characters behind a "see more" link, so Duta warns you when you pass it.
   • A post to X containing a link costs about thirteen times as much to publish, and Duta says so while you type.
4. Step 4

   Add photos or video

   Use the file picker under Photos and video. Duta reads each file and checks it against every channel the post is going to, while you are still writing.

   • If a file breaks a rule, Duta names the rule and the real value — "this video is 3:20, Threads accepts up to 5:00".
   • Give each image a description. It is what screen readers announce, and Duta sends it to every platform that accepts one.
   • Instagram takes up to ten images as a carousel.
5. Step 5

   Pick a time

   Choose when the post should go out. Times are in your own timezone, which Duta converts and stores correctly, so daylight saving and travelling do not move your post.

6. Step 6

   Press Schedule, and close the laptop

   Duta publishes from its own server. Your computer does not need to be on. The post appears on the Calendar, and once it has gone out it appears on the Published page with a link to the live post.

What each platform accepts

If a post does not go out

Duta tries three times, waiting longer between each attempt. If the platform still refuses, Duta records the reason in plain language, marks that one channel as failed, and tells you. The other channels in the same post are unaffected — a refusal on X does not stop the same post reaching LinkedIn.
