LinkedIn

Long-form text, photos, or video, posted to your own profile.

What Duta sends today

Duta posts to your personal LinkedIn profile. A company Page is a separate product and is not connected today.

Text can run far longer than X allows, and a post can carry photos or a video — not both at once.

The real limits

Read from the same adapter Duta's compose screen checks a post against — not typed out separately, so this cannot say something the product does not actually enforce.

Text and media limits for LinkedIn
TextUp to 3,000 characters
Media requiredNo
PhotosUp to 20 per post, 10 MB each
VideoUp to 500 MB, up to 30 min, at least 3 sec, video/mp4 only

Worth knowing

  • LinkedIn hides everything past roughly the first 210 characters behind a "see more" link, so Duta warns when a post runs past that point — the opening line is what most readers actually see.
  • Video is uploaded in byte ranges and is only counted as posted once LinkedIn finishes processing it, so a slow upload picks up where it left off rather than starting again.
  • A LinkedIn video carries a title rather than a description for a screen reader — none of the shapes LinkedIn documents for video include one, so Duta sends the opening line of the caption as the title instead.
